Last week was fun at the workplace (i think that must be one of the rarest sentence ever!). Twas completely dedicated to the 'phirangan', Sandi Rose. (i hope my blog is not Googleable!) Had loads of fun with her (quite opposed to what i thought it would be!)
She cracked me up with her amazing sense of humor. Shes the kinds who can brighten the lives of the dullest people with just a chirpy whole hearted "hello". And I couldnt help but notice how amused everyone from the security guard, to the canteen guy, and even the technology support (the hardest to please)were with her.
The crab and I took her out shopping (in a mall..i know ..how stupid ..! Like she has never seen one in her life.. how Indian that is?)and I thought she would just shop like crazy for 'Indian' stuff.. but she too just like us, rolled her eyes when saw the price tags..and told the sales girl she will come back when she had a second job!
Was quite amused be in an auto rickshaw...and went 'weeeeeee' with both her hands up in the air at every bumpy turn! (which are not very rare in b'lore) And after some time made all of us do it!!
It was fun to explaining her things which are so indian that you have to think twice to translate them effectively such as, how are the 'gulab jamuns' made, and what is 'gutka' ( she thought the packets hanging on all small khokhas were 'condom packs'!)
And on the last day of her stay in India, went out for a drinks and dinner session and laughed our heads off!
Thanks Sandi for lightening up the workplace (and lives to an extent), even if was only for a few days. I'll miss your company :(

Back to the boring work and bruce lee and the crab..*sigh*!

poor pallo..... now tat sandi gone, u have to try n concentrate on ur job than enjoyin the trips to malls n clarifying ghutka packs.
