Have I told u ‘lake'ly’...

..that i am a nature freak?

Actually, I have been wanting to write something not-so-cynical and so I decided to post a nice write up with a photo-shoto about a ‘lake’ that’s on my way to my new ofc..YEP! a LAKE on the way to the OFFICE!.

Well, as u can see, there is no photo ...read ahead to know 'why?'-

The first day I passed the lake (and it’s a huge one)…I thought..'Wo…am I going to pass by this everyday?’. Its so cool to be passing by a touristy place everyday on your way to office. (I have stayed in Rajasthan for quite sometime, so water bodies mean a lot to me.)
Its a huge thing sitting between two ‘stink’iest-algae-filled-nasty-looking naalas’ (sadly). It looks like Cinderella between two step sisters…the step mother being the dirty village around it. Whichever way, it was spellbinding to see it staring in your face with all its vastness and serenity. Especially in the evenings on the way back, the huge blushing pink sun is just about to hide in the lake. And the lake in turns all exotic shades of pink and orange with a tinge of the sky’s blue. Its just so pretty...the color of the water…for a split of a second the girlie thoughts take over and I wish I could make it into a dress and wear it! (Please note, only on very rare occasions do these kind of dressy thoughts pass by my twisted head, therefore, it is worthy of being mentioned here.)

Anyhow, so I was maha-impressed by this lake and I would tell this to as many people I could. I would so desperately want to click its picture and show it to people. When I told this to my peer, she said that I was behaving like I created the lake! That interestingly encouraged me some more and after a 3-day long weekend, I finally got a camera. Although, I was worried about looking like a complete bozo with a camera-shamera in the office cab. (Just to let you know, my cab mates are rather dull ….well, they actually deserve a separate post on how dull they are…so more on that later.)

Did I mention that the lake looks beautiful but only when the windows are shut? Because, you will be wrinkling your nose, eyes and all parts of ur face so much that you would miss out on seeing the lake…yes, thats how bad it SMELLS!
However, I wait eagerly for the lake and just a lil before it appears, I open the window with my camera ready. Immediately, 12 pair of eyes stare at me like ‘u must be crazy’…and then…. I start to wonder am I really? Because, instead of the lake I see a vast expanse of green…..in THREE days??? There is little water and the rest is just green weeds in the water.
What the fuck happened to my Cinderella lake?

So, very taken aback, I first quickly shut the window, to save myself from getting killed with stares. Then, I realize I shud have atleast clicked one picture. And I try to do so with the tinted windows shut..and get a few hazy pictures which could be of anything but a beautiful lake.
One cab mate dryly tells me 'its dried up..no rains'.

*sigh*

Global Warming..you suck! Phbtt!
